Hi All. I’m finally up and walking after a very long 24 hours, and feeling much better. Thanks for the well wishes. Jenn did a great job taking care of me all night and today… This side-effects of this drug, malarone, gave me the same symptoms as malaria — and they are not pleasant! OK, they are AWFUL.
So I went to a health clinic today and saw an M.D. (although he has a homeopathic slant to treatment which i like). He made me switch RX’s because I can’t stay on Malarone. I have already lost 8 lbs and I’m really dehydrated (NOT that I’m complaining about getting a little skinnier - hehe:) but staying on this drug would put me in the hospital very quickly.
I already feel SOOOOO much better.
Now that I’m on the mend, and thanking my lucky stars that we only lost a day of our trip, Jenn and I off to plan our today tomorrow. Hope all is well at home.
How’s my boy Charles doing??? ![]()

Susie that’s great news…just go slow for a day or so (if that’s possible for you to do)You had us quite concerned, but things are on the upswing now so have a blast!! We love you both Dad and Sue
Sue so glad you are doing better. Hope you enjoy the rest of the trip Jen send me your password to pics to my email if you can. I want to show the kids the pics. I looked at them when I was at work and it looks so beautiful there. Sorry about the creepers
Hi Sue and Jen! (sorry I haven’t met you yet Jen)
I am so glad to hear you are feeling better.
Just a Charles update:
1) He is indeed in charge of our days and our lives (or is it nights), but we are having a great time and he is doing really well.
2) Today we went on a walk around the neighborhood and had a great time sniffing lots of things and marking grand new territories (Charlie did all the marking, I restrained myself).
3) He loves going outside and then turning around and coming right back in to get a treat.
And finally:
4) he loves his new meals with a little bit of chicken and rice, and some chicken broth mixed in with his regular food.
I sure hope everything is going well with you! Enjoy the rest of your trip!!

I LOVE you guys! Thank you for taking such good care of him. Give him a kiss and a woof woof for me.
Sue! Glad you’re feeling better! Thanks for the amazing pics. At least I get to live vicariously thru you. We miss ya, but I’m sure you don’t miss work!
I took Clemenstein over to your house the other night and she and Charlie got on fine. Clem got very jealous though when Charlie was laying on his plush bed enjoying a rawhide and didn’t pay any attention to Clem. Clem was laying down watching him and crying and crying…another Annabelle - jealous. sigh. we miss you lots. Hi Jenn!
Thank you Aimers. Give him a big kiss for me! We are at the Zulu Nyala Lodge now, and will blog more later. How did Charlie and Clem do the rest of the weekend? xoxo
Pilar, don’t start calling me Susie … or there will be trouble.
only her sisters and parents call her “Susie” hard habit to break LOL
Looking forward to the next blog …. the girls are watching your travels too. Get some good pictures for the album I am making.
Hi Susie and Jen: Trying this out for the first time. So glad you both are having a great time. Glad to hear that you are feeling much better Susie. Love, Mom
